iOS requires this permission for any app that interacts with devices on your local network (such as ping or port scanning). The app does not scan anything in the background — only when you press a button. You can manage this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
Many hosts and firewalls drop ICMP echo requests. If ICMP ping returns no response, try switching to TCP mode with port 443 — most hosts will accept a TCP connection on the HTTPS port. TCP "ping" measures the time to establish a TCP handshake.
UDP is a connectionless protocol — when a UDP port doesn't reply, there's no way to tell whether it's open (but silent) or filtered (blocked). This is a fundamental property of UDP, not a bug. TCP scans give definitive open/closed results.

On your device only, in iOS UserDefaults. Up to 20 entries per tool. Swipe left on any entry in the history sheet to delete it, or use "Clear All" to wipe history for that tool.
